WordCamp Nice was our second WordCamp as a Mediapapa sponsor, and the first of three planned for 2026. We spent the whole week in Nice, from Tuesday to Saturday, and made the most of every day.

Three days in Nice

Wednesday 4 March was the first time the full Mediapapa team worked together in the same room since Jason joined. A full day dedicated to auditing the product, exploring the wider ecosystem and working through our backlog. Good energy, plenty of ideas and a clear direction for the next sprints.

Thursday 5 March was Contributor Day. The WordPress community gathered to work on translations, documentation, accessibility and more. And for the first time in WordPress history, the day included an in-person release party for WordPress 7.0 beta 3.

A memorable moment, with one of the strongest French contingents ever at a release event!

Our booth during the event

We had dozens of live demos during the day. We talked with many many people: agencies, freelancers, product builders, WordPress educators and users with different setups came to discover the plugin.

Two things came up more than once.

First, the branding. Several people mentioned that Mediapapa felt different from the usual utility plugin, more joyful and considered. The brand is a big part of the project and seeing people enjoying it is exactly why we invested in this from the beginning.

Second, the use case that keeps validating itself: site rebuilds. One person told us they were redesigning a website for a client with years of accumulated, poorly optimised media. Mediapapa was going straight into their workflow. That is exactly the scenario we build for.

Only at a WordCamp

Elie SloĂŻm, founder Opquast, a company focused on web quality assurance, bought his Mediapapa licence during the event. He tested it right away and walked across the building to flag some errors at our booth.

A few minutes later we were crossing the building back to explain what the issue was and that a fix was already on its way. Live support, in person, within the hour. That kind of thing only happens at a WordCamp.! 😍

The offer we ran at the event is still live. If you were there and missed it, or heard about Mediapapa this week, the form is still open.

What comes next

Everything we heard at Nice feeds directly into our next sprints. Our roadmap is public, if you want to weigh in on what we build next, come have a look.

More events are coming later this year. See you in Krakow in June! đŸ‡”đŸ‡±
